Holistic, non-judgmental, empathetic support for parents

Empowering parents to nurture themselves so they can support and advocate for their neurodivergent child.

About

About Spectrum Parent's Support

Hi, I'm Tracy Jones, the founder of Spectrum Parent's Support. I am Mom to an adult daughter and an autistic PDA teenager, and I am self-identified autistic myself.

I come from a background in child development and education, having worked in a variety of settings, including 12 years in a SEND provision. In 2014 I trained as an Advanced level Hypnotherapist and NLP Practitoner and have supported people with mental health since then.

I now combine all of my professional qualifications and experience with my lived experience as an autistic parent to an autistic son, to offer holistic support to parents in a safe, non-judgmental, empathetic way.

I specialise in supporting parents of neurodivergent children using neurodiverse affirming approaches, to reduce stress, anxiety, and overwhelm as we navigate the world of neurodiversity together, empowering them to prioritise their own mental health and wellbeing so they can support their child more effectively. We also work on repairing and rebuilding the parent-child connection, and relationships within the family as a whole, enabling parents to bring a sense of calm, peace, and harmony to their own lives and their family.

I understand that it can be difficult to navigate the education and healthcare systems to ensure that your child is receiving the support they need so I provide resources and guidance to help parents become more confident advocates for their children's needs.

My goal is to empower parents to feel confident, supported, and equipped to navigate the challenges of raising a neurodivergent child.

How We Can Help

Anxiety

Managing anxiety can be especially challenging for neurodivergent children and their parents. We offer resources, services, and support to help manage anxiety and reduce its impact on daily life.

Depression

Parents of neurodivergent children may experience feelings of depression or burnout. We offer resources and support to help manage these feelings and promote mental wellbeing.

Relationships

Having a neurodivergent child can put a strain on relationships with partners, family members, and friends. We offer resources and support to help navigate these challenges and maintain healthy relationships whilst ensuring your child and their needs are understood.

Confidence in Advocating

As parents of neurodivergent children, most of us find ourselves in a position where we need to advocate for our child and their needs. It can be difficult to do this effectively when you are emotionally involved. I can help you to become more confident when dealing with professionals and asking for (or fighting for!) support and provision, as well as teaching you strategies to communicate with professionals more effectively, prepare for those all important meetings, and keep your cool when the going gets tough!

Parent-Child Connection

With so much to manage, it can be easy to feel disconnected from your neurodivergent child. The parent-child relationship can quickly deteriorate, especially when managing challenging behaviour and meltdowns. We can support you in understanding your child, taking care of yourself, and repairing and rebuilding the relationship with your child.

Hypnotherapy

As an Advanced Level Hypnotherapist with over 10 years experience, I am well equipped to help you to reduce and manage stress, anxiety, and overwhelm, as well as many other issues.
